Definition

Methyliertes Flavonderivat das z.B. in  Orthosiphon stamineus enthalten ist (s.a. Eupatorin, Sinensitin). In experimentellen Ansätzen konnte nachgewiesen werden, dass Scutellarein antiproliferative, neuroprotektive und antiangiogentische Wirkungen aufweist. Der antiangiogenetische Effekt wird über eine Modulation des Wachstumsfaktors VEGF induziert.
