Definition
Perfluoropolymethylisopropyl ether ist ein synthetisches, fluoriertes Polymer, das in kosmetischen Rezepturen eingesetzt wird (Akiyama E et al. 2005). Die Substanz wirkt als Emolliens (macht die Haut glatt und geschmeidig). Pharmazeutischer Einsatz: Perfluoropolymethylisopropyl wurde in klinisch-experimentellen Ansätzen als Schutzfilm zur Vermeidung toxischer Kontaktdermatitiden eingesetzt (Pantini G et al. 1990).
Die Verwendung von Perfluoropolymethylisopropyl in Kosmetika wird als bedenklich eingestuft.
