Definition

Imperatorin ist ein natürlich vorkommendes Furocoumarin. Chemisch handelt es sich um 8-Isoamylenoxypsoralen, eine Substanz die unter anderen in Urena lobata L. (Malvaceae), Angelica archangelica (Engelwurz) und in Petroselinum crispum (Petersilie), Heracleum spp. (Bärenklau) isoliert wurde.

Imperatorin  besitzt antimikrobielle, antiinflammatorische und antiallergische Eigenschaften. Die Substanz wird arzneilich jedoch nicht als Einzelsubstanz sondern lediglich in den Extrakten der versch. Arzneipflanzen genutzt.
