Definition

Als Cetethe werden die Polyoxyethylenether des Cetylalkohols bezeichnet (vergleichsweise: Laurethe, Polyoxyethylenether des Laurylalkohols; Stearethe: Polyoxyethylenether des Stearylalkohols).

Allgemeine Information

Cetethe sind Polyalkylenglycolether, auch Fettalkoholpolyglycolether mit dem Fettalkohol Cetylalkohol. Der hydrophile Teil bildet kurzkettige Polyethylenglycole (Polyoxyethylene). Ceteth-8 phosphate ist die INCI -Bezeichnung für den einfachsten Cetyl-Polyoxyethylenether mit nur 8 Ethylenoxid-Einheiten pro Mol. Ceteth-8 phosphate wirkt in kosmetischen Präparaten als Emulgator.
