Definition

LTBP4 ist das Akronym für Latent-transforming growth factor beta-binding protein 4, ein Gen (Genlokation 19q13.2),  das für ein gleichnamiges Protein kodiert. Bei dem Protein handelt es sich um einen “Key regulator of transforming growth factor beta” (TGFB1, TGFB2 and TGFB3). Es spielt eine Rolle bei der Elastogenese. Mutationen in diesem Gen führen zu einer autosomal-rezessiven Cutis laxa vom Typ ARCL1C.
