Seltene, langsam wachsende, 0,4 bis 1,6cm große, noduläre bindegewebige, weiche, symptomlose Geschwulst, die klinisch an ein Fibroma molle erinnern kann, jedoch auch plattenartig subungual wachsen kann.

Erwachsene im Alter von 33 bis 67 Jahre (Durchschnitt: 52 Jahre)

Bevorzugte Lokalisationen sind die Extremitäten, Rumpf,  Gesicht (Kamino H et al. 1989). In einem Fall wurde eine subunguale Lokalisation beschrieben (Halteh P et al. 2016),     

Unter einer normal strukturierten Epidermis finden sich ein Konvolut spindelförmiger, auffallend pleomorpher, Vimentin- , Aktin- und CD34 positiver Fibroblasten/Myofibroblasten. Negative  Immunoreaktivität für  CD31, S-100, and CD68 (Mahmood MN et al. 2003). Eingesprengt finden sich mehrkernige Riesenzellen (Tashakori M et al. 2018). Stellenweise kann auch eine adipozytäre Komponente vorhanden sein.

Dermatofibrom, Atypischer lipomatöser Tumor; Dermatofibrom mit Monsterzellen (CD34-Negativität - Rudolph P et al. 1999).

Aufgrund des wenig typischen klinischen Bildes wird die Diagnose ausschließlich histologisch gestellt.
