Definition

Multidrug-resistente Candida-Spezies die erstmals 2009 in Japan im Ohrabstrich (C. auris) einer 70-jährigen Frau nachgewiesen wurde. 

 

Vorkommen/Epidemiologie

Candida auris lässt sich bei Infizierten in den äußeren Gehörgägnen,  in Harn- und Atemwegen auch vulvovaginal und auf Wunden nachweisen. 
In den USA wurden 13 Fälle der potenziell tödlich verlaufenden Pilzinfektion durch Candida auris mitgeteilt. Inzwischen wurde Candida auris bei Patienten in Südkorea, Indien, Südafrika, Kuwait, Kolumbien, Venezuela, Pakistan, Großbritannien, Frankreich  und in Deutschland gefunden. 

 

Hinweis(e)

Gelangt C. auris in den Blutkreislauf, kann die Infektion auf Grund der Resistenz gegenüber den üblichen Antimykotika lebensbedrohend  verlaufen. 
Infektions - gefährdet sind v.a. immundefiziente Patienten (insbes. aich HIV-Infizierte) und Patienten auf Intensivstationen.
