Definition

Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, auch Avobenzone  (Handelsnamen: Parsol 1789, Milestab 1789, Eusolex 9020, Escalol 517) gehört zu den chemischen Lichtschutzfiltern das das gesamt UVA-Spektrum absorbiert.  Das Absorptionsmaximum liegt bei  357 nm. Butyl-methoxydibenzoylmethane ist ein  Dibenzoylmethane Derivat  mit hoher photosensibilisierender Potenz. Weiterhin werden der Substanz hormonelle Wirkungen zugeschrieben.
